Drug-Free Noble County (DFNC) was formed on December 20, 1989, as the local coordinating council for the Governor's Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. It's purpose was to "identify, address, reduce or eliminate those problems in our community which are related to the abuse of alochol and other chemical substances." Since then, DFNC has grown from a governing council of 25 to community anti-drug coalition of around 100.

The misson of DFNC shall be to reduce the illegal use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, primarily among youth in Noble County through education, enforcement, treatment, prevention, and coordination with other agencies.
